Marc Karl Coppola : This is what I brought on stage this Sunday.
Placed 4th out of 24 athletes and my prep lasted only 2 weeks
(I’m only showing you the best shot)
-
I never had such a great overall experience...
I met a lot of people who were there to support me and I made quite a few friends during this last year, so I always had someone to talk with while in the backstage.
-
I know for sure that I can do better and also that a few things went wrong down the road during the last days before of the show:
• Got sun burnt, which led to water retention and a flaming red abdomen, which was hard to cover with the fake tan
• 3 of my meals fell on the ground the day of the registration and was left without food
• walked all day within Turin the day before, making my carb reload ineffective (I felt empty af the evening before and during the day of the show)
• since carb reload has been ineffective, my pre stage pump got affected too (empty muscles)
• my tan was a bit too matte, while I’d like to find a way to make it a little bit more bronze and shiny, so I will have to work on that too for the next competitions
• I suffer from hyperhidrosis, which leads to excessive sweating and if the tan has not penetrated the skin the right way, it just drips off, leaving the ugly strains you can see on my abs
• I was given n.1 and was the one who stayed the most on stage, because you need to wait for everybody to introduce themselves and it took a while to get the other 23 athletes in front of the judges... after a bit I just couldn’t hold my abs anymore, resulting in an even flatter condition
-
I’m really happy with the experience and I know for a fact that I can bring a way better condition on stage!
And this competition has been a huge success on a strategical level, because at least now I know what to work on and how to behave for the next show.
